Many states will allow you to dismiss a traffic citation or ticket or to reduce points on your Driving Record by the successful completion of an approved defensive driving (driver safety) course.
In addiiton, many Insurance companies in many states offer a discount on automobile insurance for the successful completion of an approved defensive driving course. These include State Farm, Allstate, Farmers, Geico...and most other insurance companies.
You should always check with your Insurance Agent to determine if completion of a course will result in a discount or savings and your Court to determine if a defensive driving course will dismiss your ticket..
General Information: If you have taken a course to dismiss a ticket in the last 12 months, you may still qualify to take another course for another ticket! This is the Judge's decision and many will allow it. Check with the Judge or the Court to see if you will be allowed.
